New coach Daniel Thuoine has been in charge for only a week, meaning his ideas will take time to implement, time Werder don’t really have. They currently sit in the relegation play‑off position, just two points clear of the automatic drop zone. Bayern, meanwhile, hold a six‑point lead over Dortmund, though that gap could be reduced to three depending on their result against Mainz on Friday.
