Match on:

Tottenham are nearer to relegation than European places and face a Man City side fighting for the title. Can they take anything off Man City?

Tottenham v Man City – Tottenham Hotspur Stadium 17:30 CET

Team News:

Tottenham have a huge injury list. Attackers Richarlison, Mohammed Kudus are out while James Maddison is long term. Midfielders Bentancur and Lucas Bergvall are missing too. In defence centre is without Ben Davies while right back Pedro Porro is unavailable. Key defender Mickey Van de Ven should be fit, which is the only positive.

Man City will miss winger Jeremy Doku which is a big loss. He will join defenders Dias, Gvardiol and Stones in the treatment room. Winger Savinho is out here also.

Formations:

3-4-2-1 for Spurs who will look to flood midfield and restrict the attack of City. Even with a long injury list they will still field a decent side. They have decent defence still but some problems with attacking and finishing chances.

4-1-4-1 for City is the formation with the return of Rodri. The loss of Doku is less felt with the instant adaptation of Semenyo on the opposite wing. Although the defence has a few new faces, they gelled quickly last match and Guehi looks like he has been playing there for several seasons already.

Statistics:

Referee: Robert Jones (Average cards 3.56 Yellow 0.07 Red per game)

Match Preview:

Tottenham ended the UCL group stage as the 4th best side but sit in 14th in the EPL. A real conundrum for the fans and owners as Thomas Frank would be in the unemployment office if not for the European run. Man City are chasing Arsenal at the top of the table and only a win here will suffice. Injuries have hit both sides but squads are deep enough to stretch to still decent first elevens for Spurs and City.

Betting Preview:

Spurs have a good record over recent years against Man City in EPL and Europe. They will struggle to get anything here though. Guardiola has seen an improvement in his side after back-to-back 2-0 wins in which City have dominated. Rather than the all out over the top style we have seen at times.  Take a Man City win here at attractive odds.
