Top of the table clash as Rennes host title holders from Paris. Can the home side get anything against the juggernaut PSG?
Rennes v Paris St Germain – Roazhon Park 19:00 CET
Team News:
Rennes suffered several setbacks in their last match, with key defenders Jeremy Jacquet and Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal both stretchered off and expected to face long spells on the sidelines. Attacker Djaoiu Cisse is also unavailable, while squad player Glen Kamara remains out. Frankowski is a doubt as well.
PSG have only squad guy Ndjantou out for this one. Good news for them with Fabian Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi available.
Formations:
Rennes typically favour a 3‑5‑2 setup, but with reserve‑team coach Sebastirn Tambouret stepping in, a tactical shift is possible. Franck Haise has now been appointed as the permanent manager, though it’s still unclear whether he will take charge for the match against PSG.
4-3-3 for PSG and the usual high intensity pressing game with overloads all over the pitch. With key men back in all areas should be business as usual for them.
Statistics:
Referee: Benoit Bastien (Average cards 3.95 Yellow 0.17 Red)
Match Preview:
Rennes go into this one after firing coach Habib Beye. He went off the back of 4 straight defeats. Whoever is in the dugout for this one has their hands full. PSG are on a run of seven consecutive victories in Ligue 1. A run of form that has seen them overhaul Lens at the top of the table. PSG are just as comfortable on the road also as they have 7 wins from 11 away games.
Betting Preview:
PSG are in action on Tuesday in the UCL playoff, but their squad depth allows them to rotate without losing much quality. Holding a two‑point lead over Lens, they will be eager to apply pressure with a win here. Rennes, meanwhile, are in dire form and now missing two key defenders, making this an extremely difficult challenge. Backing PSG to lead at half-time and full-time offers solid value.
