Netherlands v England – Wednesday 21.00 CET

Euro 2024 and two sides who some will say don’t deserve to make the final. Spain is waiting for the winner and this should be a tough game.

Netherlands finished 3rd in their Group behind Austria and France. They beat Poland, drew with France but lost to Austria. In R16 they hammered Romania 3-0 and QF stage came from behind to deservedly beat Turkiye 2-1. They have scored 9 and conceded 5 with Gakpo joint top scorer with 3.

Team news: Full squad for England who finally have only left footed LB Luke Shaw fit to start. Full squad too for Netherlands

Head-to-head statistics: 8 games 4 wins Netherlands, 2 draws and 2 wins England.

Betting selection – Netherlands have steadily grown into the competition and look a real goal threat. England have been very one dimensional and have not yet gave a full 90 minute display that’s got you out of your seat. Too close to call this one and for me should be both same price for the match and to qualify. Therefore the 2.20 or 6-5 Netherlands Qualify Bet365 is good value.

Uruguay v Colombia – Wednesday 23.59 CET

Copa America semi final and two of the best three sides so far meet up in North Carolina, Argentina or Canada awaits.

Uruguay won their group with three wins from three, beating Panama, USA and Bolivia – scoring 9 and conceding 1. They drew 0-0 with Brazil in QF stage but had to play 10 men for last 20 minutes. Colombia won their group with 7 points. Beating Paraguay and Costa Rica, plus a 0-0 draw with Brazil also. They demolished Panama 5-0 in QF (the only team to qualify in that round without going to penalties.

Team news: RB Nandez is suspended while Aruajo is out the competition. Full squad for Colombia as Jefferson Lerma is back after his suspension.

Head-to-head statistics: 14 games 7 wins Uruguay, 3 draws and 4 wins Colombia.

Betting selection – The decision to go straight to penalties in the knockout stages here has led to 3 of the 4 QFs being drawn as the games end up too close and teams hold out for the 90 minutes. This will affect this game as both sides are very close. Back draw at 2-1 or 3.00 Betfair.

Argentina v Canada – Tuesday 23.59 CET

Copa America semi final and a surprise match up with Canada taking on Argentina for a final appearance against Uruguay or Colombia.

Argentina won their group with three wins from three, beating Peru, Chile and todays opponent Canada without conceding a goal (scoring 5) They did only draw in QF with a 1-1 level match with Ecuador. A surprise for sure as Ecuador equalized in 96th minute to take it to penalties (no extra time in Copa America QF or SF) Canada finsihed 2nd in this group with 4 points. As well as the Argentina loss they drew with Chile and beat Peru 1-0. A penalties win for them after a 1-1 drew with Venezuela brings them here.

Team news: Full squad for Argentina, for Canada Tajon Buchanon is a doubt.

Head-to-head statistics: 2 games 2 wins Argentina.

Betting selection – The curious decision to go straight to penalties in the knockout stages here has led to 3 of the 4 QFs being drawn as the games end up too close and teams hold out for the 90 minutes. I don’t see Argentina conceding here. Back Argentina win to nil at 1.93 10bet.

Spain v France – Tuesday 21.00 CET

Huge match up as the two neighbours clash in Munich. A place in the final against Netherlands or England awaits.

Spain have made it this far with 4 wins and 1 draw and look the best side in the tournement. They topped a tough group with 3 wins from 3 – defeating Albania, Italy and Croatia. They battered Georgia 4-1 in R16 and only Germany in QF with a draw managed to stop them. An extra time winner for Spain from Mikel Merino brought them here. France have not really played one tie yet with any attacking threat. They have been very controlled. Two wins (Austria and Belgium) both not convincing and three draws (Poland and Netherlands in group) plus Portugal last round and a penalties win. They have only scored 3 goals in 5 matches.

Team news: For Spain Pedri is injured while Carvajal and Le Normand are suspended. Rabiot is back for France after his own suspension.

Head-to-head statistics: 36 games 16 Wins Spain, 7 Draws and 13 wins France.

Betting selection – Spain for me have been the best side in this competition by a mile. France are solid and do have threat but again we see a team playing more not to lose than to try and win. Spain to qualify at 1.83 or 5-6 Betfair.

Head-to-head statistics: 20 games 4 wins Norrkopping, 9 draws and 7 wins Djurgarden.

Betting selection – A few guys out for the home side but a solid home record coupled with Bahia being awful on the road mean a home win. Back Palmeiras -0.75 at 1.76 Unibet. We get half win have push if Palmeiras win by 1.

Netherlands v Turkey – Saturday 21.00 CET

Quarter final tie in Berlin and two sides not many expected to make it this far.

Netherlands finished 3rd in their group with 4 points. They beat Poland, drew with France and lost to Austria. It was a straight forward R16 as they beat Romania 3-0 in an easy game. Turkey have been pretty chaotic so far with 2 wins and 1 loss in group stages. Beating Georgia and Czechia but losing to Portugal. R16 was actually a great win over much fancied Austria 2-1.

Team news: Attacker Steven Bergwijn is a doubt here after injury in 1st half of last match. Turkey lose three players to suspension. 2 goal here Merih Demiral, Orkun Kokcu and Ismail Yuksek but do have skipper Hakan Calhanoglu back.

Head-to-head statistics: 7 games 4 wins Netherlands 1 draw and 2 wins Turkey.

Betting selection – Three key men out for Turkey and Demiral will miss Semifinal also. I think that will cost them dearly. Take both score at 5-6 or 1.83 betfair.

England v Switzerland – Saturday 18.00 CET

Dusseldorf for a quarter final tie and the right to play Netherlands or Turkey in the semifinal.

England topped their group but were pretty underwhelming. Beating Serbia but drawing with Slovenia and Denmark. They then drew with Slovakia in R16 1-1 before winning in Extra time. None of the performances have been with any style or attacking verve. Switzerland have actually been vibrant. They beat Hungary and drew with Scotland and Germany in group stages. A R16 win over an insipid Italy brought them here.

Team news: CB Marc Guehi misses out suspended. Silvan Widmer is back for the Swiss.

Head-to-head statistics: 10 games 8 wins England and 2 draws.

Betting selection – Another tight match and much closer than the odds suggest. Teams this competition have been more interested not losing than trying to win. Take Draw at 2-1 or 3.00 WilliamHill.
