France Ligue 1 – Stade de l’Abbe-Deschamps 20.00 CET Friday 23 Jan 2026
Team News:
Auxerre: Nathan Buayi-Kiala is out but not important. Francisco Sierralta (CB) is a doubt and will be a loss if absent. Back from suspension for Auxerre are Elisha Owusu (DM) and Gideon Mensah (LB/LM) (both starting players)
PSG: Will be without Quentin Njdantou (FW) which is no loss to them. However, doubts over important players remain with influential midfielder Fabian Ruiz (CM) likely to miss out after coming off in Tuesday’s loss to Sporting. Senny Mayulu or Warren Zaire-Emery will vie to replace the Spaniard. Issues remain over Lee Kang-In (M) Matvey Safonov (GK) and Joao Neves (CM). Neves is a key man but the other two are not starters. Achraf Hakimi (RB) and Ibrahim Mbaye (RM) have returned to Paris after the AFCON final on Sunday and both are expected to be available.
Formations:
Auxerre 4-3-3 but have utilised 5-3-2, 3-5-2 and 5-4-1. Will for sure go defensive 5-3-2 here.
PSG 4-3-3 – don’t change at all so will continue with the tried & trusted formation.

Match Preview:
PSG win odds have drifted as they return from Portugal after a 2-1 loss to Sporting Lisbon Tuesday plus some key men doubtful for the game. Auxerre have only played once since 4th January, but this will be PSG’s 5th game in that same period. Auxerre will be much fresher obviously, but PSG have great squad depth. In total 30 points separate the two teams, and the home side have only won once since 21st September! Both sides have key men returning but Hakimi is a difference maker for sure. Auxerre will look to defend and will start with 5 man defence. PSG do have the tools to unlock it.
Betting Preview:
PSG have won the last 5 Ligue 1 games with a GD of +10 so we can expect a straightforward win here. Auxerre are fighters though and at home they will fight for everything. High cards for the home side is very likely with them throwing everything at the Parisian giants. Discipline is a real problem though for Auxerre who are averaging around 2.5 cards per match. Coupled with referee Mathieu Vernice being quite card happy it should feature a lot of bookings.
